Lukoil says production in Kazakhstan as usual
MOSCOW, Jan 11 (PRIME) -- Russian oil giant Lukoil’s production facilities in Kazakhstan are operating normally, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Lukoil informs that as of January 11, 2022 all organizations of the group engaged in production on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan are operating in a normal mode,” the statement read.
Protests in Kazakhstan’s regions of Zhanaozen and Aktau against doubling of liquefied natural gas price started in the first days of January. On January 5, violent clashes with the police started in the largest city Almaty, and the president declared emergency in whole country and dismissed the government.
